Students ring up more than $9K for Salvation Army

Salvation Army Bucket.UW-La Crosse students collected $9,235 Saturday, Dec. 7, while ringing bells at every Salvation Army collection site in the La Crosse area.

It was the largest total UW-L students collected in the three years they’ve taken over bell-ringing duties at the 25 area sites for one day.

The ringing, organized by the university’s Habitat for Humanity chapter, included 21 student organizations and four campus residence halls. Around 240 students set aside their books less than a week before finals to take part in the ring.
