Program receives top honors

UW MBA Consortium program again ranked among top five percent in the nation

The University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium, a partnership that includes UW-La Crosse, was again ranked among the top five percent of all online MBA programs in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

The UW MBA Consortium tied for the No. 12 spot in the 2017 U.S. News & World Report list of the Best Online MBA Programs. Additionally, the UW program tied for seventh in the U.S. News & World Report ranking for Best Online MBA Programs for Veterans, moving up three spots from last year.

This is the third year that the UW program has earned a spot in the top five percent. The program tied for 12th in 2016, was 10th in 2015 and was recognized in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Graduate Business Programs rankings in 2014 and 2013.

“We are pleased to hear that the UW MBA Consortium is once again recognized as one of the best in the nation,” says Mark Huesmann, director of UWL’s MBA program. “In some respects, this news is not surprising because of our excellent faculty and courses that involve the collaboration of multiple, accredited business schools.”

Rankings are determined by factors such as admission selectivity, student retention and engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation, and student services and technology. Accreditation by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) is also taken into consideration.

The UW MBA Consortium allows students to complete their MBA degree completely online through the partnership of four UW System business schools, which are all accredited by AACSB International. In addition to UWL, the consortium includes UW-Eau Claire, UW-Oshkosh and UW-Parkside.
